About Me
Edward Wahesh, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Counseling in the Villanova University Department of Education and Counseling where he teaches courses in addictions treatment, prevention, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavior therapy, and appraisal techniques in counseling. He also has provided clinical instruction to students completing their fieldwork in clinical mental health counseling. Dr. Wahesh received his Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he minored in Public Health Education and Educational Research Methodology. He is a National Certified Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor. He has served as a professional counselor and supervisor in college, community, psychiatric inpatient, and secondary school settings. From 2005-2010, Dr. Wahesh served as director of alcohol and other drug education at Fordham University (Bronx, NY) where oversaw a comprehensive substance misuse screening and brief intervention program. Dr. Wahesh has clinical and research interests in addictions prevention and intervention in collegiate settings, clinical supervision, and counselor education. With fellow member of MINT, Dr. Todd F. Lewis, Dr. Wahesh is the co-author of
Motivational Interviewing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling
(2022, Routledge).
