Janet Delong is a Training Specialist and Research Associate for Prevention Insights at Indiana University. She is a physical therapist, is a Licensed Social Worker and is a Nationally Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach. She also owns Delong Wellness, LLC and teaches Health and Wellness coaching for IU and Ivy Tech. Janet has a passion for working with persons who deal with chronic pain, who have experienced trauma, who have issues around mental health and substance use and/or who are oppressed in some way. In addition to patient and client care, she provides education on Motivational Interviewing, SBIRT, chronic pain and wellness, and is involved in prevention on both an individual and a societal level. Janet is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, the American Physical Therapy Association and the National Association of Social Workers. She is a budget coach at Habitat for Humanity.
I love to work with both individuals and groups with varying professions and interests. This allows for a rich discussion and potential for a broader understanding of how Motivational Interviewing may be used.
