Sarah S. Gainey, MSW, LISW-CP (S), is a licensed independent social worker/supervisor and has been working in the mental health, addictions, and support services fields for more than 15 years in the Charleston, SC community. Sarah received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston and her Masters in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. Most recently, she was trained to provide Motivational Interviewing training and is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT).
Sarah provides counseling for people looking for help with substance use, co-dependence, women’s issues, relationship concerns, trauma, self-esteem, stress and anxiety, life transitions, parenting, wellness, and career or life coaching. She has also been fortunate to work in addiction research, improving health care access, providing support to pregnant and parenting teens, and running pregnancy/HIV/STI prevention programs. Sarah’s instruction experience is extensive and varied, including safer sex and substance abuse interventions, graduate-level coursework, and holistic wellness classes.
