My name is Elizabeth Jenkins (Beth), and I am a psychologist, proud mother of two young adults, lover of all pets seeking a home, and a self-proclaimed foodie. I provide services in both NC and FL and enjoy the outdoors and anything related to water. Professionally, my areas of specialization are professional health, leadership, and motivational interviewing.
Dr. Elizabeth Jenkins is a licensed clinical psychologist, owner/director of Professional Health Consulting, and a Courtesy Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences at the University of South Florida (USF). She received her PhD in psychology from the University of Miami with a specialization in behavioral medicine, and she completed her doctoral internship at the Tampa VA Hospital where she continued to serve veterans and their families for over 20 years. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and facilitates local (NC and FL) and national training and coaching in motivational interviewing (MI).
Dr. Jenkins is co-author of 3 MI books: "Motivational Interviewing for Leadership: MI-LEAD," “MI-Lead: A Leaders Guide to Difficult Conversations,” and “The Listening Space: A Guide to Strengthening Parent-Child Relationships with Motivational Parenting.” Dr. Jenkins provides training for organizations on the applications of MI to leadership settings. Dr. Jenkins is also a treating clinician for the NFL Program for Substances of Abuse, and, for over a decade, she has been a facilitator for continuing education workshops focused on leadership, interpersonal skills building, anger management, conflict resolution, and appropriate prescribing practices to physicians through USF and through the University of Florida's Department of Psychiatry, Addiction Medicine Division. She is the owner and director of Professional Health Consulting (PHC) where she provides psychotherapy for substance use disorders, health promotion, anger management, communication skills, and conflict resolution.
